33 Canvases

These bars are actually behind the image that they enclose. The face is being progressively extruded through the grid. But the images of the grid are also part of the extrusion, left behind on the sides of the canvases.

There is a progression from the top left hand to the bottom right hand corners. The images become more and more abstracted at the same time as they project more and more forward. The top left canvas is clearly an image, whereas the bottom right canvas is much more of an object. Its imageness has virtually disappeared.

In the midst of this, there is also a vertical strip of canvases that are constant. They are a gap, a break, a view, a memory.
