Projected Portraits

1977

The two people are in fact the same person, but one exists in the form of a series of slide projections.

When the slide person is projected onto the real person, together they create a new identity in which it is not always possible to see which is which.

Both figures hold pieces of card in front of their faces. The card blocks the view of their own image, but reveals more of the image of the other person.
