Photo Head
The ceramic head was slip cast from a display mannequin. It is anonymous but it does have solidity, texture and colour. The photos are of a real person photographed from all sides and some of the torn scraps of image are attached to the ceramic head.
There are questions;
Which is more real – the skin deep photographic imagery or the tactile solidity of the head?
And is the photo layer progressively growing and spreading, or slowly being discarded like a snake’s skin?
